Candidate's Statement

WHY I AM RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION FOR ECUA DISTRICT 1

I was born and raised in West Pensacola, Florida. I have a sincere desire to make this community a better place to live, work, raise a family and build a business.  Listed below are the action items I promised and delivered during my last couple terms:

·         Lower Rate Hikes – I have strived during my time in office to keep all rate hikes below CPI and will not vote for a rate hike over CPI ever unless it is imperative to the health of our citizens.  I have been successful in lobbying legislators for millions of dollars for infrastructure improvements during my time on the board.

·        Accountability and Communication – I pushed for live streamed ECUA Board meetings, Live Green Website, New Homeowner Packages for Realtors & Developers and Education for all citizens on how to better care for your aging infrastructure.

·        Expanded Recycling & Waste to Energy – During my time on the board we added CNG Sanitation Fleet saving ratepayers over $1+ million per year; We added a Regional Composting Facility which has now won numerous National Awards and diverts over $1+million in costs of drying sludge; We added a Regional Material Recycle Facility diverting over $1 + million in landfill tipping fees. We continue to improve the Recycling Process and recently added an App for your cell phone – please download the “Recycle Coach” App and learn what you can and can’t recycle or report missed pick-ups.

·        Improved sewer system to address DEP Consent Order – I approved a 16-year plan of reparation to reduce Sanitary Overflows tremendously, and commenced aggressive Inflow & Infiltration work and have spent hundreds of millions of dollars to improve your pipes.

·        Technology Updates – We did a complete update of systems reducing dropped calls and streamlining work orders which will continue over the next two years.

·        Policy and Code Updates

SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS OWNER:

·        Owner – Perdido Title & Abstract, Inc. since 2007.

·        I have owned several successful Escambia County Businesses, all employing Escambia County citizens.

I Promised You Responsible Leadership and I delivered.

With your continued Support I will work for:

·        Planned growth in Escambia County to include Sanitation Growth Solutions and State or Grant Funding for Septic to Sewer Conversion where it is critical to health or requested.

·        Improved Plant Cyber Security.

·        A State-of-the-Art Transfer Station for Sanitation which will make routes quicker and allow for planned growth in the Sanitation System.

·        Continued upgrades to ECUA technology

·        Continued quest to be a leader in the region for Recycling and even more advanced Waste to Energy Initiatives.

·        Continued Better Communication with Constituents, Government Entities and Developers on Policies and Policy changes.   ECUA needs the reputation of being the “Best Government Agency to do Business With”

As a life-long conservative Republican fiscal restraint is more than a motto, to me it is a life-style.  Before asking you to tighten your belt another notch, I believe that government must continue to tighten its’ belt.  Like you I believe a better future for our community starts with our vote—from the top to the bottom of the ballot.

I would be honored if you would cast your VOTE to Renew, Recycle and Re-Elect Vicki Campbell for ECUA District 1.
