Candidate's Statement

Judge Peacock was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan and raised in Wayne, Michigan.  After graduating from Wayne Memorial High School Judge Peacock attended Eastern Michigan University on an honors scholarship.  Judge Peacock received his Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice/Criminology in 1996 and started his law enforcement career in 1997.  After serving the City of Inkster Police Department as a Patrol Officer, Detective, Administrative Seargeant, and Commander, Judge Peacock left law enforcement to attend law school at the Florida State University College of Law.  While attending law school, Judge Peacock was able to serve as a Certified Legal Intern at the Office of the State Attorney for the 2nd Judicial Circuit.  Judge Peacock moved to Brevard County in 2007 and started prosecuting misdemeanor crimes for the Office of the State Attorney for the 18th Judicial Circuit.  While at the State Attorney's Office, Judge Peacock prosecuted crimes ranging from Driving Under the Influence to First Degree Murder.  In 2019, Judge Peacock was promoted to Division Chief suprevising a division of three attorneys and three support staff employees while prosecuting crimes involving death.  Governor DeSantis appointed Judge Peacock to the Brevard County Court in June of 2020.  Since his appointment to the bench, Judge Peacock has served the citizens of Brevard County hearing criminal matters in Viera.  Judge Peacock has been married to his wife Meredith for 18 years and they have a 14 year old son.  Meredith serves a s a Victim Advocate for the Office of the State Attorney and their son is currently in the 9th grade and plays JV Baseball for the high school.
