Candidate: Kenu Turk

Hi Friends, neighbors and fellow Baker Countians. My name is Kenu (Ken) Turk. I am a fellow Baker County citizen and have been for most of my life and I have been a faithful member of Pine Level Church in Baxter for over 20 years.

my family has been in Baker County for4 generations now. I have been married to Denise (Alford) Turk (of Glen St Mary) for 34 years and we have 2 wonderful children, Kenu & Keelie Turk. They have been active in Baker County 4-H for 8 years and have participated in local parades, fair and events many times.

I am a flooring contractor with many years of business experience. As a business owner with over 30 years of experience, I must deal with budgets and problem solving on a daily basis. Owning my own business has made me a self-starter and a leader when it come to getting things done. My father (Kenneth Turk) taught me “don’t make excuses, make it happen”. This is something I have to do on a daily basis.

My wife Denise and I also run an Exotic bird rescue, breeding/conservation facility for endangered species and take in unwanted exotic birds. We have been doing this for many years and have had to deal with all the challenges this has presented. We love our animals, our Country and our community.

Honesty, integrity, problem solving and listening to the public are key pieces to being a good County commissioner. I have all these attributes and I will serve you “the people” with them. You have to treat people the way you want to be treated. I am a Christian Conservative Republican that believes in what this country stands for, Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness.  I am a common man just like you and I want to serve the people. I will do my best to make informed decisions for the people of Baker County and serve their interest that will benefit the community as a whole. Not my own.
