Candidate's Statement

Delores Linscott for Seat 5 - GSCDD 1

2560 Walden Run Drive, Gateway Greens

Full-time Gateway resident for 18 years. Married 63 years with one son.

2018 GSCDD Election Platform

  •  Not driven by personal agenda.
  • Reduce the dominance of the Stoneybrook community on the GSCDD Board which currently occupies 3 out of the 5 board seats (including my opponent).
  •  Curb excessive spending on Lake Bank Restoration.
  • Redirect limited capital reserves to projects that provide tangible rewards for all Gateway residents.
  •  Halt double-digit budget increases. Live within the financial means of our community.
  •  Work with the board to get things done more smoothly than has been done in the past.
  •  Active in the Stop the Park movement in 2007 because it was a tennis-complex in disguise. I am open to a more diverse recreational facility for all ages providing that it is well planned, cost-effective, and properly secured for Gateway resident use only.
  •  Enhance Gateway’s landscaping which has been stale for years. Get much better value for GSCDD $1 million annual landscaping spend. Good optics improves first impressions and enhances property values.
  • Keen to hold regular Town Hall meetings to ensure Gateway Residents are consulted. Too many times I have seen GSCDD become heavy-handed and single-minded in its decisions.
  • Willing to attend any HOA meetings for Q & A if invited. ? Ensure the Dog Park is kept clean and well maintained.
  •  Provide safe streets for residents of all ages.

Past public activities

Gateway Services Community Development District (GSCDD)

  •  Received GSCDD accolade for persuading WCI to fix bad sections Gateway Boulevard o Road Turnover Committee
  •  Traffic Committee o Park Committee
  •  Landscape Committee

Gateway Greens HOA - Chair of Landscaping made a visible and lasting difference to the Gateway Greens community.

Spearheaded the successful ‘Community Homecoming Park’ in Toledo, OH
