Ray Guillory is running for the Escambia County School Board in Dist. 2

Ray Guillory is a lifelong resident of Escambia County. He grew up in Warrington, where he attended Warrington Elementary School and both Pensacola and Escambia High Schools.

Ray and his wife Brandy have three daughters, Arizona, Charlotte, and Baylen. The two oldest graduated in 2022, and Baylen will graduate in 2033.

Ray Guillory was a Board Member of Workforce Escarosa and the Treasurer for the NWFL AFL-CIO.

The real issue in education is education or, more specifically, the lack of it. Right now, in District 2, we have four failing elementary schools pipelining into a failing Middle school. As a result, Tim Smith, the superintendent of schools, had to go to the state board of education and present a plan to change Warrington Middle into a charter school. 
 This plan is to “save” Warrington Middle. I know that Warrington isn’t a building; it’s the students and the community. But unfortunately, this plan will fail Warrington. 
 Four years ago, I ran for this same seat. I beat this issue to death. My opponent, Paul Fetsko, the current board member, acted surprised by what he called “all the fuss.” Today he is still surprised that the school is in such a predicament. 
We need someone on the Board that understands this community and can see the problems, and is determined to find solutions. Unfortunately, I am the only one running that fits that description.

We must ensure our children have the tools to succeed and build a bright future for all of us. This idea must be at the forefront of every vote and discussion the Board has.

Teachers, Parents, and Students all need a strong voice to stand up for them. We have too long had nothing but a yes man on the Board. We need someone who will say No, No more failing schools, No more failing students, No more ignoring problems, and No more having the lowest paid teachers and support staff in Florida.
