Candidate: David Williams

David Williams is an accomplished educational leader, classroom teacher, athletic coach, and administrator.  David believes the following three issues are vital to the success of the Escambia County School District.

School Safety

David Williams has worked closely with local law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of all students before, during, and after school hours.  David oversaw the implementation of mental health training for students, faculty, and staff.

College and Career Readiness

As an administrator, David Williams's school led the county for 13 consecutive years in academic scholarship.  Graduating students received on an average 13 million dollars of awardd fiunds.  As an instructional leader, David Williams's school produced the most National Merit Scholars, Semi-National Merit Scholars, and Achievement Scholars in Northwest Florida.

David collaborated with local colleges and universities to ensure graduating students were prepared academically and financially for college entrance.

David Williams has served as the chairperson for the accreditation review using the AdvancED/SACS programs.

Closing the Achievement Gap

David Williams leadership improved the graduation rate from 62% to 91% among all students and 53% yo 88% for African American students.

David has worked closely with School Advisory Councils (SAC), Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA), and Schoolwide Improvement Plans (SIP).
