Candidate: AMY OVERSTREET

   Amy is an eighth generation Columbia County resident. She married her high school sweetheart, Shane Overstreet. They have two daughters Shayna (Bobby) Williams and Shelby Overstreet. They also have three grandchildren Brinsleigh, Sawyer, and Mason. Her parents are Doyle Spradley and Nealy (O’Neal) Balkcom.

        A graduate of Columbia High School, Class of 1992. Soon after graduation, Amy received a technical certificate from Suwannee Vo-Tech Institute and became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She began her nursing career at Lake City Medical Center and was also trained as a ward clerk. Lastly, she was offered and took the position in the operating room as a Certified Sterilization Technician.  

        Amy was hired by the former Tax Collector, Mr. H. Ray Walker in 2001. She began as a Deputy Clerk on the front counter and has trained in each department of the tax collector’s office. Currently in the Finance Department her responsibilities include the daily deposit for the office, accounts payable, accounts receivable, distribution of tax certificate funds to certificate holders, distribution of property tax funds to taxing authorities, payroll when needed, processing returned checks, issuing refund checks, answering phone calls, assisting and training coworkers.
