Candidate: KATHRYN M. (KATHY) PORTER

A Village of Rio Ponderosa resident since 2003, I am a native of Staten Island, NY. Before retirement, I held a number of management positions in the financial industry including banking, a financial newspaper, investment banking, financial information technology, and boutique accounting firms. Since 2006, I have served as Membership Chair and Director of the VHA maintaining the vast membership database. Also in 2006, I became chairman of the Bookworm Book Club and treasurer of the Marion County Rose Society, both of which positions I continue to hold. I am proud to be a Florida Master Gardener since 2009. I have been married to my husband Charlie since 1973 and we are the parents of six children and five grandchildren.
