Candidate: DENNIS HAYES

Background Information:

I am married 54 years to my wife, Pat; father of 4 sons; grandfather of 3; foster parent of many, many teens. I held leadership positions in church ministries and several family-oriented organizations and, after retiring, I was a volunteer counselor working with married couples. We moved to The Villages in 2010 and I have served District #8 as a CDD Supervisor since being elected in 2012; having been selected by the District #8 Board, I have also represented District #8 on the Project-wide Advisory Committee for the past 6 years, currently serving as Vice-Chair of that committee. I am also a first-responder for the Village of Buttonwood AED Community; I enjoy golf, dancing & discussion groups.

Professional Experience:  

I was Vice-President/Partner of a national Environmental Engineering firm, a Licensed Professional Engineer in many states and a Diplomat of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. I have over 40-years of experience working with municipalities, being personally responsible for the design, construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure systems; certifying bond compliance; negotiating construction contracts and providing oversight of contractor performance. I established operating budgets and reserve funds to finance repairs of infrastructure and future facility replacement expenditures.

Being Your Supervisor:

Your supervisor’s primary responsibility is to make sure that District #8 is financially sound, that it’s operating and reserve funds are sufficient to maintain and/or replace our infrastructure systems (roads, drainage, landscaping, etc.). My personal leadership and professional engineering experience make me uniquely qualified to be your supervisor.  I bring communication and negotiation skills to resolve conflicts, an open mind to consider options, and the knowledge and commitment to make decisions that will Protect Our Interest$.
