I am currently a supervisor in District 7 and have been for two terms.  During my terms I have served as a member of the Investment Advisory Committee which advises on the investment of Villages' funds amounting to many millions of dollars.
I have read, reviewed,and commented on all the contracts enter into by District 7.  This includes their having to take a separate vote on the amendment to the Project Wide Agreement. Then disagreed with the proposal to allow the Sumter Landing Community Development District  (all the supervisors in the Sumter Landing Development District are elected by the Developer) to have control over approximately 1/2 of District 7's funds.   I proposed that the Project Wide  Committee, composed by representatives of all the Distrits, have such authority. These funds are spent on projects that are of Village wide concerns.
I graduated cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law and was a partner in several law firms specializing in municipal law, estates, real esate, and business law.
As a Commissioner of our local fire district I oversaw a budget of over $6,000,000 and reviewed both the setting of the budget and its disbursements.  I also represented several other fire districts.
As a Board Member and President of the Association of Towns of New York State it represented almost all the towns in the state while both educating and advising them concerning legislative and judicial matters.
I was a Member and President of our local Rotary and served as a member of the Board of United Cerebral Palsy Association.
After retiring in 2010 we came to The Villages because it is a great place to live. To preserve it we must be active, study why it is successful and learn how to preserve and improve this community and its spirit.
The issues that the Board of Supervisors are dealing with now are the very issues I have dealt with repeatedly in my practice of law.  I believe that my background and experience would be an asset to the VCDD-7  Board of Supervisors.
