Candidate: JERRY FERLISI

MY NAME IS Jerry Ferlisi I AM RUNNING FOR Reelection for the BOARD of SUPERVISORS DISTRICT 5, SEAT 3 (CDD5): The Villages of ASHLAND, BELVEDERE, BONNYBROOK, BRIDGEPORT @LAKE MIONA, LIBERTY PARK, LYNNHAVEN, POINCIANA, SUNSET POINTE and WINIFRED.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn & then Staten Island NY before moving to TV.

My wife Maureen and I bought our home in 2005 & became full time residents in the Village of Poinciana, in May 2010.

I hold a B.S. in Accounting from Long Island University and have had an extensive career in Finance with over 35 years of senior experience. After 3 years in Public Accounting, I then held the following positions in 3 different corporations (St John’s Episcopal Hospital, Staten Island University Hospital & NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases) over a 30- year period. I served as Controller, Vice President, and SR. Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. I reported to both the CEO/President & The Board of Trustees. Responsibilities included all aspects of Finance (Financial Statements, Budgeting, Billing & Accounts Payable and The Issuance of Tax-Exempt Bonds plus Legal Services & Purchasing & also reported to me.

I have a demonstrated track record of delivering:

Fighting for & preserving Residents Rights; helping your community & making The Villages an even better place to live can best be ascertained by what I have done.

1.    US Army & National Guard (1965-1970).

2.    I became Treasurer of the Property Owners Association of The Villages (POA) shortly after moving full time to The Villages in 2010 and continue to serve on the POA Board as a VP preserving citizens & property owners’ rights.

3.    Elected as District 5 Supervisor in 2012 & currently serving 2016-2020.

4.    I became certified as a CERT Volunteer (Certified Emergency Response Team).

5.    On my block Westchester Way, we initiated & started an AED Program. We have 2 AED’s & my wife & I are one of 12 households that are trained & on call to assist our neighbors 24 hrs./day/365 days/yr.

Accomplishments & Objectives:

1.    My vision is to make the Villages an even better place to live and to be responsive to the needs and interests of residents.

2.    I am committed to putting the residents’ rights and interest first and to keep you informed about important issues in a clear concise way when you have questions

3.    Replying to phone calls & emails, I have assisted numerous residents resolve issues.

4.    My advocacy for residents was evident in the fight for safety & striping of the multi-modular paths which has contributed to the many improvements currently being made.

5.    I believe that my strong financial background and proven executive leadership serving several different Boards of Directors for over 30 years proved to be an excellent addition to CDD 5.  My 10 years serving as POA Treasurer & or VP has enabled me to continue to fight for residents’ rights

6.    During my 7+ years as CDD5 Supervisor, we have not raised the Maintenance fees & in fact we decreased it one year

7.    I serve as the CDD5 Alternate to the Investment Advisory Committee (IAC).

Hobbies & Personal:

    1. My wife & I are the proud parents of 2 sons (& now 2 daughters-in-law) & 2 gorgeous granddaughters (I have the pics to prove it).

    2. We are active in physical fitness (gym several times a week) plus bowling & golf.

    3. Members of numerous clubs including SOSB (Seniors on a Spring Break).
