Candidate: SAL TORNAME

I was born and raised in Masachusetts and became a full-time resident of The Villages in 2011.

I worked in the telecommunications industry for nearly 40 years, starting with New England Telephone, now Verizon, and ending my career with General Service Administration, a Federal Agency providing communication services to other Federal Agencies. My assignments involved routinely working with large and small telephone companies and acting as a liaison between those companies and agencies to negociate a variety of telephone agreements and contracts.

In my early formative years and throughout my career, I became active in many civic and charitable organizations, inclusing service on the Conservation Comission and I was elected to my town's Planning Board.

I served as a Masachussetts Birdge National Quality Award Examiner from 1995 to 1997.

Because of family and personal experiences, I have made the proliferation of The Villages' CPR/AED program one of my top goals. For the last few years, I have given presentations around The Villages on the need, workings and instructions on how to initiate CPR/AED neighborhoods. 

I received a BS Degree from Salem State College in Business Administration and a MS Degree from Ana Maria College in Quality Management. Inow live in St. James Village with my wife Kathleen, have two daughters and four grandchildren.

I was elected to serve as a CDD8 Supervisor in 2012 and continue to hold that position.
