Greetings, My Name Is Reggie Sessions

I was born in Fort Pierce, Florida, graduate of Fort Pierce Central H.S. I attended Florida A&M University afterwards graduating from Southern University Law School with a Juris Doctrine Degree. I am presently an attorney in Fort Pierce, Florida.

 I have made the decision to run for election for the District 1 Fort Pierce City Commission.I will make sure tht the two economic engines like BRIGHT LINE & KINGS LANDING PROJECTS BECOME A REALITY .

After discussing this with my family and friends, I feel that I must get involved in politics to fight for the issues that have become so important to our city. It is not a decision that I take lightly, and I am prepared to work as hard as I possibly can to win this election with your help.

We made great strides during my tenue as City Commissioner that have gone in reverse in the pass four years since I've been out of city goverment. A prime example, look at our downtown area, it’s going back to looking  like a ghost town, blighted due to the city’s neglect in taking care of the infrastructure where the tenants are moving away. Which will lead to the Court House leaving downtown if there is no concerted effort to stop that from happening. Our neighborhoods throughout the city of Fort Pierce are looking like a slum, where the city employees that are underpaid, understaffed ,overworked. Therefore they are unable to keep up with the maintenance of the infrastructure by no fault of their own. Asituation that City goverment is coming short of it's responsibility.There is no more Streeet sweeping to maintain our streets, since I've been out of office in District 1 (This is unacceptable, and IF ELECTED I WILL MAKE SURE STREET SWEEPING STARTS AGAIN

I am pursuing this race because I believe, as I think you do, that Ft. Pierce needs aggressive leadership. While I was in office I was blessed me to spearhead major projects that have come into fruition for example, during the pandemic I stepped out on faith before any governmental body or politician to bring COVID testing sites, mask giveaway drives and food giveaways throughout our city.

The Port of Fort Pierce was a dream of mine that finally came to reality after I worked so hard when people said it would never happen . Another major project that I spearheaded was Fire Station 15, the busiest station in Saint Lucie County which indicates that there was a desperate need, but no one stepped to the plate to make it happen. We fought hard and it's presently located on 7th Street in Fort Pierce.

My list of accomplishments include  Park Restoration of 6 parks in our city , Chick-fil-A on Okeechobee Rd., Wawa on Okeechobee Rd, Boys to Men summits for the youth, Job Fairs for the unemployed also one of the founding fathers of the Fort Pierce Athletic Boxing Club to name a few.

Speaking of youth, if you've noticed ,there has been an effort to move a lot of our schools to the southern part of the county in Port Saint Lucie and allow the schools in our City of Fort Pierce to become dilapidated and nonexistent. It's going to take a strong individual like me to stand up and stop this movement, our future lies with our young people and we cannot allow the school board to continue in this manner. I am determined to stop this. And as you know already, when I'm determined to do something,  I make it happen by speaking for and on behalf of the people of Fort Pierce.  A man of his word with PROVEN LEADERSHIP.

 We must tackle the high crime rate , gang violence shootings, corruption at city hall , unsolved murders, economic challenges and blighted neighborhoods, and extremly high utility rates which are only a few of the problems we now face in our city. These crime problems affect our taxes being increased, our homeowner’s insurance being increased ,and our automobile insurance increased based on our zip codes. We must elect leaders with a willingness to create new ideas and solutions to these problems that are in the best interest of the entire community. I believe that I am that leader but I need your support to make it happen.
