Candidate's Statement

Linda Hudson, Mayor of Fort Pierce 2024

My first campaign for Mayor in 2012 was about jobs, public safety and economic prosperity.  Violent crime is down, property values are up and unemployment is low.

Is our job done?  Not hardly.

Florida is experiencing explosive growth.   We must serve the needs of increased residential and commercial growth, while providing the whole city with excellent services.

We must meet job growth with a post-pandemic skilled workforce.

We must continue excellence in our police department with competitive officer pay and new technology to keep pace with new age policing.

We must protect our waterways and our quality of life.

In the ten years I have been Mayor, our city has reduced our debt by nearly 50 %, our property values have risen dramatically, and our citizen boards and committees are more engaged than ever in helping move our city forward.

Our city has emphasized that we are “One Fort Pierce.”  We are dedicated to serving all our residents equally.  We know there are new challenges including workforce housing, continuing vigilance to reduce crime and balancing the needs and wants of longtime residents and businesses with the expectations of our new ones.

I ask for your continued support to serve as Mayor.  Please vote in 2024 for Linda Hudson, Mayor, Fort Pierce.  Don’t forget:  if you vote absentee, all voters must request an absentee ballot, regardless of any previous requests.
