As an experienced leader with deep roots within the county, Gabby combines professionalism and dedication by leveraging personal and professional experience spanning several decades to create positive change across various sectors within St. Lucie County.
Personal
A resident of St. Lucie County since 1984, Gabby and her husband Jerry, a career law enforcement officer, have been married for 33 years.They are the proud parents of Alec, a John Carroll High School graduate. Gabby is well-prepared to lead, committed to continuous improvement, and has a vision for a better future. In steadfast commitment, Gabby has diligently fundraised hundreds of thousands of charitable dollars for local nonprofit organizations and worthy causes.
Gabby is a servant leader who is solution-focused, ethical, galvanizing, forward-thinking, trustworthy, and determined to make a positive difference in the lives she touches.
Professional Experience
Thirty-four years of working under three Constitutional Officers within the Public Defender's Office have given Gabby unparalleled insight into what it takes to uphold the highest standards of conduct and transparency while responsibly managing taxpayer funds.Throughout her illustrious career, she established herself as one of the region's preeminent experts in training methodologies, talent development, cohesive teams, and organizational prowess.
Gabby knows first-hand the hard work, commitment, perseverance, and sacrifice to maintain public trust and making fiduciary budget decisions with taxpayer dollars. She remains actively engaged in civic life and continually seeks to foster relationships built on mutual trust with local government and community leaders.
Education
With more than three decades of experience working in a public organization and extensive involvement in philanthropic activities, executive board governance, and leadership, Gabby believes leading the Tax Collector’s Office begins with higher education in understanding complex issues, critical thinking, and research applications to benefit all residents. Gabby’s education includes a bachelor's degree in management from Barry University. In addition, Gabby is currently completing her master’s degree in public administration as well as acquiring superlative professional leadership training in public organizations to serve all residents of at the executive level of local government.
Plan
Gabby pledges to uphold the highest levels of professionalism in the Tax Collector's Office. As a fiscally conservative agent, she will eliminate wasteful spending and optimize every dollar. Gabby shall provide additional fee-generating services previously overlooked within Florida statutory guidelines.Gabby is committed to providing budget transparency along with her exemplary track record proves she will lead with a community-focused leadership approach to the government.
Gabby promises to be a Tax Collector looking out for taxpayers and residents, including seniors, business owners, and working families. In addition, she has a solid plan to create superior efficiencies that expand service hours to reduce wait times. Finally, Gabby states she will strive for continued efforts to research and secure tax-saving solutions within Florida statutory guidelines for the St. Lucie County government and residents with accuracy, truthfulness, and secure customer data.
