Candidate: Bob Pelletier

 Retired Air Force after 22 years of service.  As a resident of Callaway since 1990, I see myself as a spokesman for the taxpayers.  My only mission in representing the people of Callaway is seeing that your hard earned money is spent with the highest regard for the betterment of everyone in the community and that when you have a concern, you have access to your government. My strong background in the budgeting process and financial management will be a plus because I believe the City can live within its means not by raising fees and taxes, but by working with a balanced budget.   I offer a fresh perspective, positive-thinking, and energy.  I see my job as that of a representative of the people, a watchdog of the administration of the city and a proponent of government access. I am ready to serve the citizens of Callaway and will listen to all concerns and act accordingly to better our city.

During my time as former Mayor of Callaway, I was instrumental in upgrading the city computer in order to streamline that system and procedures for a more efficient use of City funds.  I also identified short falls of accountability of fuel which was corrected by city management. Voted to eliminate free medical benefits for Callaway elected officials. Worked to reduce utility delinquent accounts. I also worked with City Commissioners to develop a proper and fair way to select a new City Manager. 

If Elected, I Will:

Support City Manager and his staff in their continued effort to reduce City debt.

Work to reduce water and sewer rates.

 Work to find ways to increase city revenues in order to reduce and/or eliminate fees and taxes where possible.

 As I have during time as Mayor, I will work with the Bay County Sheriff Department to ensure Callaway has enough Law Enforcement Deputies to protect the citizens of Callaway.

I am willing to make the tough decisions necessary to balance a lean budget and ready to reduce in areas needed.  I will steer our city to efficiency and away from higher cost to the tax payers. We must cut spending and focus only on the necessities.   I urge all voters in Callaway to go to the polls on April 21st, 2020 and vote.  I will make myself available to all citizens of Callaway and make sure everyone has a voice on all issues.
