Candidate's Statement

Commissioner Justin Campbell was elected in November, 2014 to serve a four (4) year term as Palatka City Commissioner, Group 2.

Commissioner Campbell is a graduate of Florida State University, where he obtained a dual degree in Criminal Justice and International Affairs. At present, he is currently seeking to obtain a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership.

Growing up in the small town of Palatka, Florida, Mr. Campbell has always recognized the importance of a hard-work ethic, helping others, giving back to the community, and most importantly being a positive presence in the lives of our youth, having realized that had he not had positive influences in his life at an early age, the road traveled may have been much different.

Commissioner Campbell is dedicated to making a difference in his community. He believes that there are two primary choices in life:  to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them.  He has chosen the latter. Mr. Campbell is the CEO of Campbell Consulting Group, Founder of Each One Teach One Mentorship Program, which is a signature program that was started to facilitate the important goal of positively impacting the lives of at-risk youth.  He also serves as a Guest-lecturer and Motivational Speaker at various colleges, universities, local schools, churches, and community events.

In addition to his duties as a Palatka City Commissioner, Mr. Campbell currently serves on the following boards and committees City Of Palatka Fire Pension, Palatka Police Athletic League, North Point Youth, Florida League of Cities Transportation & Intergovernmental Committee,  and Florida Black Caucus of Elected Officials.  Mr. Campbell is a former member of the City of Palatka Planning Board, Trayvon Martin Foundation Board, Tallahassee Community College Alumni Board of Directors and Florida State University Black Alumni Associations Board of Directors, where he served as Liaison to the Black Student Union.

Currently Commissioner Campbell holds the position of 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant Coordinator for the Putnam County School District and staff associate with Karl N. Flagg Serenity Chapel.

Mr. Campbell lives by the quote, "Without faith nothing is possible. With it, nothing is impossible. Faith in God is the greatest power, but great too is faith in oneself."
