Candidate: Mandy Waters

My name is Mandy Waters, candidate for Levy County Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller.

I am the ONLY candidate with hands-on experience in the Clerk’s Office and County Judge’s Office. I would like to share my extensive experience throughout my 12+ year career at the Levy County Courthouse.

For the last 12+ years, I have served the citizens and officials of Levy County with diligence, honesty and compassion. I am passionate and have a desire to serve YOU, the citizens of Levy County!

Resume - My career started nearly 20 years ago:

• Currently - Levy County Judges’ Office - Judicial Assistant
  • Many course certificates – Judiciary Career
• Levy County Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller - Felony Clerk, County Ordinance Clerk, Tax Deed Clerk, Value Adjudgment Board Clerk, Backup for Recording Clerk, Public Records Clerk, Civil Clerk and worked in the Finance Office when needed – I also learned about Archive Records, Retention of Records, Evidence Locker process and made manuals for several divisions within the Clerks Office.
• Gainesville Health Care Center –  Leadership - managing over 100 employees - as the Admissions Coordinator, Acting Activities Director, Business Office Manager, and I did Human Resource work as needed.
• Levy County Journal and Tri-County Advertiser - Advertising Account Executive
• Drummond Community Bank - Teller and conducted audits of the Vault and ATM.
  • 23 course certificates – Banking Career
• Perkins State Bank - Teller, New Accounts Representative and conducted audits of the Vault and ATM.

I graduated Bronson High School 18 years ago. My husband, Timmy Waters, and I are lifelong residence of Levy County. We have been together for 14 years and live in Chiefland. We have been members of our church for over 10 years and have helped in many leadership roles there.

I gained so many resources throughout my 12 year career at the Levy County Courthouse – that will benefit the Clerk’s Office tremendously on day one.  

Working for the Clerk of Court's Office and our Levy County Judge has given me the opportunity to learn both sides of the judicial system and also make connections with Court Administration and other offices that are crucial to the Clerk.

It is imperative to have a good working relationship with all elected officials, their employees and court administration - to be able to best serve the citizens of Levy County as the Clerk of Court and Comptroller. I am proud to say that I already have a good relationship with all of them! 

I research everything so that I make the best educated decision. This is a strong point of mine. It is always better to be proactive, not reactive. 

I am never late on anything, I always meet my deadlines. That’s very important at the Clerk's Office. There are a lot of reports that are due at various times.

I worked the front lines and greeted everyone at the counter with a smile, and anxious to see how I can help them. I have dreamed of holding the position of Clerk of Circuit Court for Levy County for a VERY long time.

I have sat many days in the courtrooms, worked with a lot of Judges and I know the proper etiquette of the courtroom and what the Judges expect. This is a Statute driven position and I have been reading and interpreting statutes for over 12 years. I have been watching and learning throughout the years. All the do’s & don’ts. I have attended many Clerk Conferences and Judicial Conferences over the years, that helped open my mind to different and more efficient ways of doing things.

To me, this is not just a professional goal to achieve. This is not about the job title either - I truly want to do the JOB!

I will always keep the public informed and educate the employees and BOCC. I will use my attention to detail, organizational skills, vision and experience to empower the Levy County Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller Office, to do what is best for Levy County. I am young enough to give decades of dedication to Levy County and mature enough to administer the duties required of this office.

I am excited to enter this next chapter and hope to continue to use my knowledge and experience of the Levy County Courthouse, to maintain and enhance the records of Levy County.
