Candidate: CIA SHERMAN

Born in Washington, DC, Cia grew up in a small town in Northern Virginia. After graduating from Randolph-Macon College she moved to Atlanta and worked as the human resources manager and staff accountant for a non-profit residential treatment facility for abused teens. During her time there, she earned her Masters in Global Management in 2004 and moved on to work for a multinational cable company. There, she was the lead administrator for the Northern and Southwestern regions of the United States. In 2007, her husband, a firefighter, was offered a position, which moved the family to Southwest Florida. Cia and her family have been proud residents of Lehigh Acres since 2009. She has been a member of the Scott Fischer Enterprises Executive Team since 2008, where she has received the highest honors for her performance and innovative solutions to business needs. She is a perpetual student of leadership and organizational health. Cia has been a member of the Bikers for Babies Leadership team which has raised over $1.5M in Southwest Florida for March of Dimes. Additionally, she has directed the Paul Sands Slaw Dog Invitational which benefits both the REIS Scholarship Fund and Blessings in a Backpack. Cia has been instrumental in the planning and execution of fundraising events for numerous non profits in Lee County and is a volunteer coach for soccer through the Gateway Soccer Association and a volunteer trainer for Swim Florida for the Lehigh Club. Cia is an avid soccer player and proud mother of two boys. She believes that the Lehigh Acres Fire Department can be one that the citizens can be proud of and one that all other districts and counties can be envious of. She believes that communication and strategic focus will be the keys to this success.
