Candidate's Statement

Bob “Coach” Henriquez is deeply rooted to the community he serves in Hillsborough County. A fifth-generation resident of Hillsborough County and Princeton University graduate, Bob was born and raised in that city and his great grandfather, Enrique Henriquez, was the last mayor of West Tampa before it was annexed into the City of Tampa in 1925.

After winning the election of Hillsborough County Property Appraiser (HCPA) in 2012, Bob earned his Certified Florida Appraiser designation. In his first two terms, Bob has made sweeping changes by utilizing cutting-edge technologies and best business practices to streamline and improve the mass appraisal process and improve customer services. Spearheaded by these efforts, Bob’s office has twice earned the IAAO’s prestigious Certificate of Excellence in Assessment Administration, an award that recognizes jurisdictions utilizing the best methods for appraisal and assessment.

Along with his duties at the HCPA, Bob serves as Secretary of the Florida Association of Constitutional Officers (FACO), is second Vice President of the Property Appraisers' Association of Florida (PAAF) and sits on the Board of Directors for the Family Healthcare Foundation.

Bob and his wife, Carrie Henriquez, are the proud parents of their son, Drew Alexander, and their two daughters, Elin Mackenzie and Emma Elizabeth. Bob enjoys time with his family, along with fishing, golf and going to the gym. Bob has also served two stints as head football coach at his high school alma mater, Tampa Catholic, and twice led the Crusaders to the state championship game. Due to his teams success Bob stands as one of the winningest prep football coaches in Hillsborough County history.
