Candidate's Statement

As a full time resident of Wild Heron since July of 2017, I am expressing my intent to seek election to the Lake Powell Community Development District (CDD), Seat 4. I have deep appreciation for what has been achieved in Wild Heron and a desire to continue on a course of constructive and responsible development while maintaining and enhancing the value of our property.

I believe that my background and experience offers a portfolio of skills that will work in harmony with other board members and the community at large to reach our collective goals. With degrees from both the State University of NY and Siena College (NY), my education spans the areas of engineering, finance and management. I have been involved in engineering, construction and technology since 1974 and spent my last 20+ years with Microsoft Corporation, from which I retired in 2010. I have worked in municipal, state, federal and private engineering projects, land development and technology projects on both a domestic and international level. My clients have included government, private, and Fortune 1000 firms across the US, Canada, Latin America and Europe. I own and have owned property in New York, North Carolina and Florida including a master planned, gated community surrounding the Carolina Nation Golf Course.  I have an extensive professional/volunteer background including roles with The Nature Conservancy, National Park Service, NY School Board, Siena College Board of Trustees, Siena College Chairman of Parental Giving, and the Wild Heron Enforcement Committee. I am also an alumnus of The National Leadership Association and have also worked as Project Manager on development of the school bus stop within our community.

Wild Heron has a history of a mutually beneficial relationship between the Property Owners Association (POA) and the Lake Powell Community Development District (CDD).  As separate entities much can be accomplished, but working with synergy; much more can be accomplished.  With collective efforts, we will drive success and continue to be the benchmark for destination living on the Panhandle.
