Candidate: Joshua Verville

As a full time resident in the Wild Heron community, I am seeking your consideration for the office of Lake Powell Community Development District Seat 4.  I have lived here with my family for seven years.  We chose this area because of the development’s natural beauty, commitment to maintain the environment, quality of construction, and amenities.  The Lake Powell CDD plays a critical role in supporting the growth and responsible development of Wild Heron and I will work to continue improving our community. 

I believe my 20+ years across sectors in state government, higher education, philanthropy, and the private sector has provided me with the skills and experience to work collaboratively across different interests and groups to achieve our community’s goals.  My educational background has focused on the areas of leadership, research, management, data, and finance with a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Washington, a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Maine at Farmington, and a graduate certificate in Non-Profit Management from the University of Southern Maine.  

I have been an active member in my communities, in Maine, Missouri, Washington, and here in Florida. I was involved in our condo association in Portland, Maine and the President of the Homeowner’s Association in St Louis where our development had an active CDD.  I currently volunteer on the communications and finance committees for the Wild Heron POA, and I sat on the Wild Heron communications committee under the previous POA board.  I am familiar with the challenges and opportunities central to the Wild Heron experience and understand how to tackle them as a community to improve growth and foster responsible development. 

I also enjoy being involved in the communities I live and work in which led me to be a mentor for youth in foster care in Maine, Treasurer for the St. Louis - Central West End Dog Parks, a volunteer soccer coach in Florida, and a supporter of  the Lake Powell Clean Up day here in our community. We often support and attend the Wild Heron events in our community. 

With your support I will work strategically with the Lake Powell CDD Board Officers, the Wild Heron Community- WHPOA, St. Joe, state and local government, and ALL my neighbors to address our urgent and short term needs without disregarding long term investment and planning.
