Candidate's Statement

Mitzi Prater for State Committeewoman                                                         Hi Bay County Republican voters! This unpaid, volunteer, working position will be on your Republican Primary Ballot August 18th, 2020. There will be two party positions on your ballot, the State Committeeman and the State Committeewoman who represent Bay County at the Republican Party of Florida and your Bay County Republican Executive Committee. These two, along with the Bay County Chairman, vote at the state level on party rules, make plans for action for each election, as well as make resolutions and recommendations for changes in our Republican platform and legislation on both state and federal levels.

You want someone with experience and knowledge in all of the above areas to represent you with integrity and dignity. I have been involved in the Republican political arena in the state of Florida for 20 years working with other strategists on local, state and federal campaigns as an experienced political starategist. I feel like it's time for me to take the lead in Bay County! I have been trained at the Leadership Institute in Arlington, Virginia, the NFRW Campaign School, FFRW Campaign School, RPOF Campaign School as well as attending and being actively involved with the Republican Party of Florida Quarterly meetings. All of this was completely at my own expense. Leadership seminars, Leadership Bay and Bay County Citizen's Academy are also places I have honed my skills. You also need someone who will commit to the time involved in actually working this position. I have been and will continue to be fully committed to this effort. I will be your soldier! I will fight for you! Neither my opposition, nor Jerry Prater's opposition has worked for you at all. If people do not work for you as a volunteer on their own time and dollar, you know that they are seeking the job for their own personal interest. Jerry Prater and Mitzi Prater are the only ones in our race who have actually broken a sweat for you for many years working hard for the Republican Party. The others are throwing  money into the race to convince you to vote without lifting a finger for the party.

You will remember me as one of "Michael's Angels" following Hurricane Michael. We stood side by side with you and our legislators in Tallahassee to advocate for more funding and decipher the presented bills and final dollar amounts awarded to whom so that you understood what was happening. Your voice was heard throughout the 2019 Florida legislative session and we were still remembered in the 2020 session. We also stood by Congressman Neal Dunn as he pushed hard for help, especially for Tyndall AFB, with a standstill Congress. Our tax write off bill, presented by Dunn, was recently passed. I also worked with the Place of Distribution in Lynn Haven, Bay County Schools, Rachal's Relief, Chidren's Advocacy Center, Salvage Santa, Toys for Tots, Food Banks, and feeding First Responders. Mentoring young people to become involved in the political process in many different ways is always something I am involved in. This is our future; this is their future. We cannot neglect the big picture of America and how we will continue to evolve.

I am a member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution and have studied my family's history for many years. Some of my family names you may recognize are Taylor, Lee, Adams, Lewis, Thornton, Penn, Madison, Rittenhouse, Jackson, Bates, Boling, Fleming, Clark, Mariweather. So I have studied a great deal of political history and philosophy.
I am also a Past President of the Panama City Republican Women and was on the Board of the Florida Federation of Republican Women (FFRW) as well as on the Bay County Republican Executive Committee-Precinct 26 Committeewoman. I have recently been elected, once again, to the 2020 FFRW Board of Directors as Chair of the Campaign Committee. In 2016 I was elected by the Republican Party of Florida Executive Board to represent Florida at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, where I was honored to be on the convention floor to say "YAY", voting to nominate Donald J. Trump as our candidate for President of the United States. I will be working at the 2020 Republican National Convention in Jacksonville, FL.

In November 2018, following Hurricane Michael, Gov. Scott's senate campaign team contacted me to help them get out the vote and produce the Rally in Lynn Haven where Scott, Bondi, DeSantis, Moody, Patronis, Caldwell, Dunn, Gaetz, Gainer, Trumbull and local candidates spoke with thousands ahead of the 2018 midterm election.

Again, following the General Election in November 2018, the newly elected Senator Rick Scott's team called on me to represent him, as well as Gov. Ron DeSantis and Matt Caldwell, at the Bay County Supervisor of Elections Office during the RECOUNT of the final votes.

Our goals in this four year term are to reelect President Trump and hold the party in place with our conservative platform, move forward to take back the U.S. House and raise our seats in the U.S. Senate. We must do the same for the Florida legislature and local races. At the same time it is imperative for us to find, recruit, train and encourage young men and women to be brave enough to run for these offices.

Everything we do in Northwest Florida effects the whole state. In essence, we carry the state on our backs going into Federal Elections so we must work extra hard to make sure we stretch Victory Lane into Central Florida. This is reason one to vote for me because I have some really good friends and colleagues within the Republican Party all across North Florida and into the Peninsula who are ready to work with me to strengthen the PARTY. Reason two is that you know how hard I work! I will not rest until Bay County and Northwest Florida are strongly heard so that we will not be forgotten. Shoutout to our extremely reliant team in Tally...Sen. George Gainer, Rep. Jay Trumbull and Rep. Brad Drake for their outstanding work for us.

I have a grassroots plan. I have young people in mind. I have a plan to motivate and engage you with the state party. You will go with me wherever I go and I will share all that I am allowed to share. YOU ARE IMPORTANT TO ME! You must vote in the Presidential Primary on August 18th to show President Trump that he has a multitude of support here in Bay. That is also the only way you can vote for me!! Thank you for your time and your interest in the process. I would be so humbled and honored if you would place your confidence in me by voting for - MITZI PRATER - August 18, 2020!

I GET it! You want to drain all swamps. Let's get this done together!
