Candidate's Statement

Greetings residents of Saint Lucie County, Florida

My name is Robin Bynoe and I am your candidate for County Commissioner District #1. I have been a resident of St Lucie County since 1971. I attended local schools and graduated from Westwood High School in 1987. After graduation I joined the United States Army. I served my country for 21 years including four combat tours. I retired from the military in 2015. I have been married for 28 years to the lovely Vicki Ann Bynoe, we have three remarkable children Douglas, Acacia and Liam. I hold three degrees, a Master of Art in Management and Leadership from Webster University (2015), A Bachelor of Information Technology from American Intercontinental University (2001) and an Associate of Liberal Art from Saint Leo College (1996).

Upon my retirement Vicki and I decided to return to my hometown and continue serving. In 2018 we started the Sheraton Plaza Community Association where I serve as President. As president I led the effort to placed entrance signs in our community and the community of Sunland Garden. I also helped lead the community in the renaming of our park after our first HOA president Mrs. Janice McGriff and her husband Roy. I am a member of the Community Economic Development Strategy of the Treasure Coast (CEDS-TC) were I serve as 2nd chair, a member of the American Legion, and an active partner with Restoring the Village. I am also a Life member of the Military Officer Association of America (MOAA),

Why am I running?

I am running because I know I can bring the type of leadership to the county that is lacking in today’s politics both local and nationally. The country is in perilous times. Leadership is critical in moments like this and vital to the days ahead.  I have seen the progress that has been made in Saint Lucie County and I have also seen areas that have remained the same. I believe government works best when it works for all its residents. I will restore trust and lead by example.

My first priorities will be to gain the trust and confidence of the four other commissioners.  This will allow us to lead the county forward in a joint effort, to make Saint Lucie County the best county on the Treasure Coast.  Exercise fiscal responsibility by spending the taxpayer’s money wisely. This will restore confidence in the government, as residence see a return on their investments. Balance growth across the county to control the impact on the environment. I will lay the groundwork for new business to come to the county to address the need for new careers and jobs.

My love and commitment for Saint Lucie County is unquestionably. I hope with your vote on August 18, we can help shape the future of St. Lucie County, so that every resident feels they are a part of the team.

Only together can we achieve the impossible.

Thank you and God Bless.
