Gwendolyn McLeod is a native resident of St. Lucie County and has resided in the City of Fort Pierce for over 40 years. She is the CEO and Founder of WE LEAP INC. a 4 year old 501c3 grassroots nonprofit domestic violence awareness organization providing advocacy and outreach services to the residents of St. Lucie County and the Treasure Coast.
Mrs. McLeod obtained a Master’s Degree in Organizational Learning and Leadership from Barry University, and a Bachelors in Organizational Managment from Warner Southern Univesity. Her professional background includes three years of employment with the Indian River County School District as a Behavior Analyst Specialist, seven years employment with the Department of Juvenile Justice as a Juvenile Probation Officer and DCF Child Protective Investigator with the Department of Children and Families. As an entrepenuer and business owner of Successful Solutions LLC. she is business savvy and enjoys coaching her clients in developing their strategy for pursuing and obtaining their personal and professional goals. Gwen has conducted keynote presentations and trainings for companies and organization such as: Walmart Distribution Center, ALPI Headstart, Boys & Girls Club, St. Lucie County School District Speakers Bureau, and other organizations.
Mrs. McLeod is very active in her community and has been recognized as one of the recipients of th 2017 PNC Bank, Treasure Coast Visionary Award and by The Department of Juvenile Justice as the 2017 Outstanding Service Award recipient for her work in the community with delinquent youth and their parents. Gwen is a member of the Fort Pierce Womens Club and serves as the 2nd Vice President on the board of directors. Gwen also serves on the Circuit 19 Advisory Board as the DJJ Faith Community Representative and has held the positon since 2015. Mrs. McLeod is also an active member of the Circuit 19 Victims Right Coalition, and has served in her community and in the State of Florida as a Notary Public for twelve years. Gwen desires to make a greater impact within the community and believe she will be able to do so by serving as an elected officicial in the county in which she resides.
