Candidate: Richard Williams, Jr.

My name is Rich Williams and I am a Constitutional Republican candidate for St. Lucie County, Florida Sheriff. I was born and raised in St. Lucie County, a graduate of Fort Pierce Central High School, an Army combat Veteran, a former Florida Highway Patrolman, and a former volunteer FLIR Operator with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit. I belong to Immanuel Full Gospel Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, where I play drums. I am pro-life!

The most important mission of the Sheriff’s Office is for our citizens to feel safe, respected, and to trust the Law Enforcement Officers that are sworn to serve and protect them. In order to ensure safety and enhance respect and trust, it is paramount that the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office procures and issues body cameras, car cameras, and additional instruments of non-lethal force for use by our Deputies. In addition, it is my intent to foster and grow a culture of Community Policing within the Sheriff’s Office that embraces community input and feedback, enhances the Sheriff’s Office Community Involvement, and ensures a level of respect for the cultural, socio-economic, and religious differences that exist within our County. As with many successful corporations in our great nation, it is important that the Sheriff’s office embrace feedback and constructive criticism as a mechanism to be a self-improving and learning organization. 

I am a strong advocate of the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution as a birthright to our citizens. I believe in Constitutional and Open Carry, as well as the decriminalization of simple marijuana possession. 

I am currently endorsed by State Representative Anthony Sabatini, Sheriff Richard Mack, founder of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, Bob White, Chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Florida and 2018 Florida Gubernatorial Candidate, the Republican National Hispanic Assembly of Florida, and by the Treasure Coast Republican Liberty Caucus.
