Candidate: James Allen

Hello, my name is James Allen. I am a candidate for Levy County Property Appraiser. I am a 4th generation Levy county resident. I have two children who both attend Levy County schools. I am  active in my church and also in my community.

I have been with the Property Appraisers Office for 21 years. I began my tenure at the Property Appraiser Office in 2001, serving as a Residental Field Appraiser. I was then brought into the office  as a customer service representative. Here, I was trained to answer questions regarding assessments, how to take exemption applications, and may other aspects of the office. In 2012, I accepted my current position as the exemption manager and have worked in this position for the last 8 years. 

My duties not only include taking exemption application and  Agriculture classification application, but also data entry, address change, checking property record cards for accuracy,  approving and deny homestead application, and investigating homestead fraud.

My goals for Levy County include easier access for the citizens to apply for the many different exemptions and to go to each city and take applications a few times a year. I want to advertise what exemption are available to the citizens of Levy County and to continue great customer service. I will have a open door policy and I will always be available to the citizens of Levy County.
