Candidate: Ray Guillory

My name is Ray Guillory, and I am running for the Escambia County School Board in District 2. My goals for education are long term, but we need to fix immediate problems like access to alternative programs and transportation for all students.

I grew up in Warrington right here in Escambia County. I am a product of the Escambia County school district. I have a daughter currently in an Escambia school and another that soon will enter Pre-K.

So many of my generation were let down by our education system; now our children are suffering the same fate. The Escambia School system is consistently ranked at the bottom of Florida schools. The system is broken and needs a revolutionary new approach.

I want safer schools, I want all students to have equal access to quality education, I want a school district that respects Parents, Teachers, and Students. I am Ray Guillory, and I want to represent you on the Escambia County School Board for District 2.

Here are some issues I believe need immediate attention.

School Safety   

School safety is a significant concern for every parent.

 Bullying

School Bullying is a big problem getting a lot more attention recently because of the school shootings that have become all too common.

Transportation 

The Escambia school system does not provide transportation for students taking advantage of the school choice or Academy programs.

Poverty and Education

One of the most significant problems facing our schools and our school-age children in Escambia County is poverty.
