Candidate's Statement

I'm Mitchell Gunter and I would like to announce my candidacy for the Bradford County School Board District 4. I'm a lifelong resident of Bradford County and a graduate of Bradford High in 1994. I continued my education at Santa Fe College and graduated in 1999 as a commercial and industrial electrician. Most of my work experience has most been in construction and facility management. I'm currently employed by The Eighth Judicial Circuit in Administration in Gainesville, Florida. I'm married to my wonderful wife Nicole and a father of three wonderful children, Hailey, Damian, and Zane. I'm also a grandfather of two. Over the years, I have been active in the community, working with community partners like the North Florida Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Merchants during their annual events. I have also been active in getting our roads safer for our community to travel on, such as having no passing lines installed at the intersection of SR 100 and 109th Street, improvements to the intersection of SR 100 and 21B, and having the speed limit lowered at both ends of the bypass intersections and now I'm currently trying to get traffic lights installed at SR 100 and 144th Street. This area is very crucial because many students travel this area going to and from school daily. As your representative, I would like to bring in new ways to advance our ways of educating our students through our policies. I would also use my position to reach out to our state and federal leaders for help in areas that need financial improvements. I will also use the position to protect female sports. Over the past years, males have been Infratrating female sports. I think you have to look at the science that shows males are stronger and faster than female athletes. Their are many reports of female athletes being injured during competition and destroying their opportunities for college scholarships. I will help protect those athletes within the school boards policies. I will work to help our ESE program by trying to bring in federal dollars to help employ more staff in these areas. One important matter is making sure when deciding on the schools curriculum. We're not inviting a WOKE agenda into our schools and make sure the correct curriculum is being used. In closing, I hope that you will consider me to represent our school board because our kids' education is of the utmost importance to me.
