Candidate: Michael Rohan

I grew up in Miami but fell in love with North Florida after spending 8 years in Gainsesville and earning a Batchelors and Medical Degree. After specialty training in Wichita Kansas, my wife and I had a craving for coastal life in North Florida. Tyndall AFB led us to Panama City where I served as a general medical officer. I have been practicing Orthopedic Surgery in Panama City for 40 years and will be retiring in April 2019. My wife and I have been blessed with 5 children and 10 grandchildren.

Our whole family loves the lifestyle of our town, the warm and wonderful people, the beautiful Gulf of Mexico with its fishing, scuba diving and boating. We are proud of  the educational opportunities that exist here. We love downtown with its unique art shops, antique emporiums and restaurants. Spiritual life is very important to me. I am a member of St. Johns Catholic Church and I am very impressed by how the churches are able to work together for the spiritual benefit of the members. God is calling us now to work even harder, since so many churches have been damaged by the storm.

Hurricane Michael has dealt us a terrible blow and I want to work with all of our citizens and businesses to rebuild Panama City and make it better than it was before the storm. I want all of our residents to be part of the rebuild process and share in the final product. Transparency, bold plans and engagement of the citizens are the hallmarks of the rebuild process and I believe I can facilitate this process.
