Candidate: Stacie Galbreath

My family and I chose to make Parker our forever home in 2016. I am a Bay County native and my husband and I raised our two daughters here. When a seat on the Parker City Council opened in November, I was one of several who applied. After the storm, I had a strong desire to get involved in what was happening in our city, so I was thankful when the Council members voted and appointed me to the position. Over the last 15 years, I have continuously volunteered in our community in some capacity. I am a member of the Junior League and have served on numerous non-profit boards giving my time and resources where I felt I could best serve. My most recent community service has been on the board of directors for the Bay County Chamber of Commerce and the Gulf Coast Children’s Advocacy, among several others. In addition to community service, my husband and I own a glass and glazing company, Glass Ventures, Inc. Prior to the storm, I was also the VP of Operations for Divers Den and Gigli Enterprises in Parker for over a decade. Over the coming years, I hope to help clean up our city--beyond the storm debris, this is an opportunity to revitalize Parker. In doing so, my background in business management and accounting will aid in planning how we  pay back the debts we are incurring in our cleanup efforts. During my time on the Council thus far, I have taken an active role in the finance and budgeting process. I want to ensure that the City of Parker remains its own entity and does not get dissolved. I am devoted to serving the citizens of Parker and am looking forward to the coming years of rebuilding, revitalizing, and renewing our city.
