Candidate's Statement

STATEMENT OF BELIEF I am seeking election to the Mosquito Control Board for one reason – results. I no longer want to question if my elected officials are doing what is right for not only me and my daughters, but also you and our community. To this end, I am committed to developing and delivering a sustainable, affordable, effective, and informative approach to controlling mosquitoes. Together, we can take a step forward in a better direction and get the results we all deserve. BACKGROUND Anthony Augugliaro has resided in Pasco County for 28 years. A proven leader, Anthony achieves continued success by building on his extensive foundation of project management, public relations, budgeting, and customer service experience. He is a unique problem solver, one who is focused on results while galvanizing the thoughts, suggestions, and perspective of others. Approachable and understanding, Anthony’s ability to talk to individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and education levels is an indisputable key to his success as a business owner and as a person. Anthony attributes his commitment to this community to his family. The son of Anthony and Katharine Augugliaro, he will be forever indebted to them for instilling in him the values of family, honesty, and integrity. Now as a father of two daughters, Isabelle (6) and Abigale (4), Anthony hopes that the example he has set of residing in the community where he was raised is one his daughters will one day follow. For his daughters, Anthony feels an overwhelming sense of obligation to steer this community on a progressively forward path. Of the many facets that comprise this community, recreation is undoubtedly at the core. Our distinctive surroundings allow us the benefit of year-round outdoor recreation, and it’s something we sometimes take for granted. The problem of mosquito control is nothing new and there is no magical solution. With common-sense approaches to our everyday lives, we can sensibly determine how to prepare for our activities outdoors. Yet mosquitoes, with complicated and evolving diseases, continue to pose a threat to our community. That’s why we must hold our elected officials accountable for their responsibilities. The Mosquito Control Board is responsible for common-sense approaches to controlling mosquitoes. As taxpayers and residents of this community, we deserve to know and understand how our money is being spent. We deserve to know if our community is safe to let our children play outside. We deserve to know what environmental and health effects may result from preventative spraying. We deserve to know when and where areas are going to be sprayed. At the very least, we deserve that. We deserve better. www.electanthony.com PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE NEW PORT BLINDS, INC., New Port Richey, Florida NOKIA ,Tampa, Florida ~ Communications Manager MCI TELECOMMUNICATIONS, INC., Pinellas Park, Florida ~ Public Relations STATE OF FLORIDA SENATE, Tallahassee, Florida EDUCATION Bachelor of Science Degree - Political Science / International Relations and Trade Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida 1991 Saint Leo College, Saint Leo, Florida 1988 Ridgewood High School, New Port Richey, Florida 1986 Ridgewood Junior High School Schrader Elementary School PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Training: Seven Habits of Highly Effective People People Skills for Management Negotiation Skills Business is Unusual (Employment Law Issues) Write-On (Business Writing Skills) Associations: AMCA - American Mosquito Control Association Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, Sigma-Theta Chapter Gills Family YMCA, Trinity – Soccer Coach
