Candidate's Statement

Mosquito Control Seat 2 Mission: I became a candidate for Mosquito Control for two reasons; First and most important, I want to make this community a better place to live. I believe my family, and yours, deserve someone on the Board who will make a difference. We deserve someone who will work hard to get things done, and who is devoted to seeing and achieving results. That someone is me. I will be committed to developing affordable and effective approaches to Mosquito Control in this community. Second, I believe this position will open doors for a better future. I have always had an interest in politics because I’ve often felt that we, as citizens and taxpayers, are looking for more results. We are left too often wondering if our elected officials are making the right decisions. I’m ambitious and creative, and would like to use my knowledge and experience as a member on the Mosquito Control board. Background: I was born and raised here in Pasco County. I married Kimberly in July of 2004 and became a father for the first time fourteen months later. My son, Austin, is almost 1 year old and growing up so fast. My family is the most important thing to me, and so I feel obligated to do whatever I can to make this community better. As a resident, we should know what our tax dollars are doing in an effort to control mosquitoes. We should know when and how often our streets are being sprayed, and even how safe it is for us to be outside when it is. As a father, I want to make it a safe environment for all of our children to play in. Although my son is still small, I look forward to the summer nights when we can play outside together. I will work hard to achieve a safe, healthy and mosquito free outside environment for all of us to enjoy.
