Statement of Candidacy: My first introduction to a Community Development District was when we purchased our home in Heritage Springs, Trinity, FL. At the outset, it seemed to be an incomprehensible jumble of figures having something to do with the infrastructure of our community. After doing research and speaking with the two other active supervisors, Rosemary Matthews and Paul Zalon, I became interested in actively participating in the CDD. To the uninitiated, CDD seems to be a rather dry subject, but upon further involvement, I realized that the conditions of our ponds, street lighting, and drainage are indeed very important and expensive issues in our community. As a supervisor, I would feel a strong commitment to my fellow residents to keep them informed of all CDD activities.
Under the law, the Developer governs the District for the first several years. This year, residents of Heritage Springs will be elected to two additional supervisory positions in the CDD. Therefore, I am announcing my candidacy for election to Seat 2 on the Heritage Springs Community Development District Board of Supervisors.
