Candidate: Nicole Deg

County Commissioner District 4 Nicole has lived in Pasco County since 1990 and is a graduate of River Ridge High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications with a focus in Broadcast Journalism in 1998 from the University of South Florida. After working in the professional sports and television industry, Nicole decided to pursue a career in marketing. But, she soon decided that she wanted to have a career that would make a difference. So, Nicole received her temporary teaching certification and began teaching Language Arts in Middle School. It was not long after when her husband, Chris, was unexpectedly sent to Iraq with the Florida National Guard. Soon after, Nicole learned she was expecting their first child. Thankfully, Chris was able to come home safely and celebrate the birth of their son, Nicholas. Nicole has been a stay-at-home mom for the past 2 1/2 years. But it was the current homeowner\'s insurance crisis that compelled her to get involved in local politics. It is her belief that this unbearable situation hits every single aspect of the county commissioner\'s responsibilities. Since the economic stability of Pasco County is at risk, she believes that we must seriously consider the affect it will have on our tourism, development, affordable housing and even public transportation. Nicole brings a down-to-earth quality to this election and believes that all county commissioners are ultimately responsible for taking care of the county they represent. Nicole and her husband Chris live in New Port Richey with their 2 1/2 year old son, Nicholas. Chris is a Detention Deputy with the Pinellas County Sheriff\'s Office and a decorated veteran of the 82nd Airborne and Florida National Guard.
