Candidate: FRANK PARKER Office: SCHOOL BOARD, DISTRICT 5 I am a native Floridian, a Vietnam veteran and a graduate of SPJC and USF. For the past 30 years I have practiced as a Certified Public Accountant in the West Pasco community. My wife Judy and I have two daughters. Judy and both girls are graduates of Gulf High School. We have three grandsons currently attending Pasco public schools. GOVERNMENT SERVICE- I have served my community as Mayor and City Council Member of the City of New Port Richey. Part of my service while elected was as the City representative to the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council, West Coast Regional Water Authority and Tampa Bay Water. I was appointed to serve on the Pasco County Citizens Advisory Committee and served 15 years on Local Board 25 U.S. Selective Service System. COMMUNITY SERVICE- As a volunteer I have served on the School Advisory Committees of both Gulf Middle and Gulf High Schools, the Board of Directors of the PACE Center for Girls - West Pasco, and the Genesis Middle and High School Board of Directors. I have completed both leadership Pasco and Leadership USF. Currently, I am a member of the Angelus, Inc. Board of Directors, New Port Richey Rotary Club, American Legion Paradise Post 79 and the Pearl of the West Masonic Lodge 146. In 2002, our firm was honored with the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award. In 2004 I was honored with the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Citizen Award and I am the 2005-2006 King Pithla. The District School Board of Pasco County is the largest employer in the county with a 2005-2006 budget in excess of $900 million. Funding, growth, teacher recruitment and retention are just a few of the issues that will dominate the School Board in the next several years.
