Candidate: Francis N. Smith

I am a graduate of Siena College (Bachelor or Arts), Syracuse University, Masters of Social Work, State University of Albany (Masters of Public Administration) and the United States Army Command and General Staff College (Masters of Military Science).

For 26 years I served in the United States Army Reserve and retired at the rank of Colonel.  At the time of my retirement, I was the Executive Officer in the 364th General Hospital (1000 bed), based, in Albany, NY.  I retired from my civilian position as Director of Internal Audit/Control, for a State of NY regulatory agency.

I have been a happy homeowner in Town Park, Bennington Village, for the past 9 years.  I currently serve as the chairperson for the Bennington Village Compliance Committee and have served in this position for 7 years.  I have also been an ad hoc volunteer for the Master Social Committee. I have attended and presented at numerous HOA board meetings over these years.

My wife Pat and I were lured to the Tradition area, after many searches, because of its assets:  central location, beauty, and family.  We found it an ideal place to retire.  I intend to remain a permanent resident of TownPark, and, as such, I want to be an integral part of CDD #6, where I will lend a fresh voice to the board. 

Over the past 9 years, I have witnessed the rapid development, the lulls, and finally the rejuvenation of the entire community. I am excited about the area’s ongoing development, evolution and promising future.  I want to share this excitement with all of the residents of the four villages of TownPark, as I serve your interests as your representative on the CDD Board #6.
