Candidate: Tammy Boyle

Hello Citizens of Levy County,

My name is Tammy Boyle, I reside in Chiefland and have been married to a life-long resident for over 20 years. My husband Jim and I have one son who is a proud CMHS Class of 2020 graduate. In 2007, we began Boyle Imaging LLC, our mobile diagnostic ultrasound business, which I manage. 

Getting to know me:
My school days, in the rural community where I was born and raised, were not only spent learning in a classroom but also helping alongside my grandmother while she taught her Kindergarten class. In our small town, which is similar to Chiefland, Mrs. Haas started the very first Kindergarten class in a tiny room inside her home and went on to teach for over 30 years. My grandmother, a small framed dark haired energetic woman, who everyone loved, will always be my greatest inspiration! Years later, my ambition led me into the field of dentistry, where I started out as a dental assistant and then was quickly promoted to a managerial position in a practice with 4 doctors and 13 dental assistants. During that time, I also attended St. Petersburg Community College in the evenings with the future goal of becoming an Endodontist.

Personal Current Information: 
After meeting Jim, I relocated to Chiefland where we built our home and started a family. As a mother, I made a promise to myself, to support my child's education continuously and be fully engaged in every aspect. This year, the realization that my son would soon be graduating, inspired me to run for our Levy County School Board in order to make an even greater impact for upcoming students and the community at large.

As a parent volunteer for the past 13 years, I've spent endless hours supporting students, teachers and school staff (in and out of the classroom) logging over 4,000 hours alone in one school. I've played a key role in our Student Advisory and District Advisory Committees reviewing/revising various school policies and much more. My combined 30 years of managing large dental practices along with my current business and the continuous service in our schools make me uniquely qualified for this School Board position.

As a School Board member my vision includes:

• supporting higher academic excellence by improving our District's scores
• devoting the appropriate time our schools deserve (being physically present)
• leading by example, increasing both transparency & communication
• exploring local diverse educational programs to partner with our schools
• being a positive liaison for schools regarding campus beautification projects
• advocating for our students, parents, tireless teachers and staff

In my opinion, a School Board member's position should be their primary job; my flexible schedule will allow me to continue to dedicate an enormous amount of time within District 2 as well as serving students, parents and school staff in our entire County. No one person has all the answers and the rules of education keep changing, but I possess the knowledge to work collaboratively, positively and effectively in a team atmosphere. Passion for education and this community will always push me to research, examine details and dive in not stopping until I'm confident that any decision made will be for the best interests of our students. My proven record of accomplishment demonstrates my never-ending devotion. I promise to serve Levy County by maintaining traditional values of hard work, integrity, discipline, self-reliance and personal responsibility.
