Candidate: Fonda Demetrius Davis, Sr.

Hello, I’m Fonda D. Davis, Sr., age 50, a native of Apalachicola and the 5th child of the late C. W. and Carrie L. Davis and I’m running to represent the interest of all the kids of Franklin County as the District 3, member on the Franklin County School Board.

I attended and graduated from Apalachicola High School with the Class of 1987 and I’ve been married to Soudra Lynn-Frazier Davis for the last 29 plus years and together we have one son, Fonda Jr. In addition to Lil’ Fonda Jr., Soudra and I raised Soudra’s baby sister, Shenita as our own daughter and we also have five adorable grandchildren.

I have been employed by the Franklin County Board of County Commissioners for 30 years this May and I’m the current Director of the Franklin County Department of Solid Waste & Recycling, Animal Control and Parks and Recreations.

I’m a member in good standing at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where I currently serve as an Ordain Deacon and the Church Youth Director. Because of my yearning to serve the interest of others, I’m been actively involved as an volunteer throughout the Franklin County community, where I serve as the Vice President of the Hillside Coalition of Laborers for Apalachicola, Inc., (H’COLA), the Assistant Fire Chief on the Apalachicola All-Volunteer Fire Department, the Chairman of the Apalachicola Housing Authority, a Member of the local Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Advisory Board, and a Member of the Apalachicola Board of Adjustments.

When call upon I gladly volunteer my time helping at fundraisers to benefit an individual or community need. I’m also an active participant in the “Ramp It Up” crew, which consist of a group of community minded Franklin County residents led by our Sheriff, that build handicapped ramps for Franklin County residents with limited mobility.

I’m ready, willing and able to represent without hesitation the interest of all Franklin County students and their parents as your next District 3, Franklin County School Board Member, but I need your support and vote on August 28, 2018 to do so. After all “It’s All About The Kids”
