Candidate's Statement

I, Roseanna “Rose” Bronhard is a candidate for Franklin County Court Judge. I am 52 years old. I am a Christian. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. While attending a Christian college, I studied theology, attended classes in Guide to the Bible, Jesus the Savior and Worship. I earned, graduated and received my law degree, J.D. in 1990. I graduated and earned a Masters of Law (LL.M) degree in Taxation. I have been a member of the Florida Bar, licensed attorney over 25 years since 1991 (Florida Bar #905320). I previously served as an Administrative Prosecutor for the Department of Business and Professional Regulations in Tallahassee. I prior worked as an attorney in the Florida Court System nearly a decade. I served as a Judicial Staff Attorney/ Trial Court Law Clerk from 1993-1997. In addition, I served as Court Probate Counsel from 1997-2002. As a Judicial Staff Attorney, I served under the direction and supervision of certain Circuit Court Judges. I assisted the Judiciary with case management, pending litigation and issues including appellate cases (from County to Circuit). I was responsible for drafting memos, opinions, orders supported by legal research, reviewed briefs, case files and made recommendations, advised Judges on litigation and legal issues. I rotated and worked for several Judges within criminal, family, civil and probate divisions. I made recommendations under the direction and supervision of the Judiciary assigned based on case file reviews, legal research and attendance during court hearings or proceedings. As Court Probate Counsel, I served the Judiciary within the Probate division. I reviewed and examined files at the direction and supervision of the Probate Judges. Attendance was required by judges at hearings or trials for the purpose of legal research on intricate issues of law and assisting judges in preparation of judgments and orders. As a private attorney, I litigated a case involving a homeowner’s association. I litigated a foreclosure case involving Wells Fargo and an Appellate brief with the District Court of Appeals. I litigated a Bankruptcy proceeding involving Sallie Mae. I litigated a case involving a national known fitness facility gym, L.A. Fitness. I litigated small claim cases involving landlord/ tenant issues. I litigated a case involving State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company. In the event, I am elected, I am aware the Judicial Code of Conduct does not permit Judges from practicing law, and I can't take on any new extra legal cases. I believe I am an honest and good human being. In the event, I win the election, impartiality, integrity and ethics are qualities I believe I will have that will serve me as a potential Judge. I believe strongly that Judges should be honest members of society and treat litigants equally. I hope my candidacy brings diversity on the ballot. Voters will have a choice among several candidates. I decided on running in Franklin County, based on an open seat. Judge is retiring based on age restrictions
