Drawing from my passion for service and private business partnership connections, I have begun to tackle the absence of a trade school program for manufacturing in Brevard. As a board member of the Economic Development Council, and a board member of the Space Coast Tech Council, I have begun to interconnect many of the local manufacturers with our local schools to strengthen our career ready workforce in Brevard, and provide attainable career paths for our students. I am a proven fiscal conservative for Brevard’s taxpaying citizens. In the face of rising insurance costs nationally, I served to help reduce the impact of these increases for Brevard Public Schools employees through innovative industry solutions as a member of the Superintendents Insurance Advisory Committee. I continue my dedication to fiscal responsibility as an appointed member of the Half Penny Independent Sales Tax Review Committee which is responsible for monitoring the nearly 41 million dollars generated from the half cent sales tax per year. In my service as a high school US history teacher, I dedicated my educational career to providing the best instruction and opportunities to my students. As a businessman, I have continued to support students by coordinating with various public service groups such as the Jefferson Awards for Public Service and the Interact club I started as a member of the Suntree Rotary Club. As a member of the Take Stock in Children Board, I work to ensure that low income students escape the cycle of poverty through education. In my time as an educator, I served my fellow teachers through programs for new teachers, business partnerships for project supplies, and curriculum idea presentations through multiple teacher in-service engagements. As a school board member, I will continue my dedication to the taxpayers, parents, teachers, students, and stakeholders of Brevard Public Schools serving to provide the best possible education for our children. My dedication, fiscally responsible spending, hard work ethic, and engagement of the community approach is what my friends and colleagues agree will make me a champion for Brevard Public Schools as its next school board member.
