Candidate: Jennifer (Jen) Lynne Hamey

Jen resides in Parrish with her significant other of many years, Steve Wood, and their rescue pup, Brock. She is a proud military mom to her son who currently serves in the Navy.

She has maintained a career in the legal field for 24 years and has practiced law as an attorney for 17 years. She is licensed in both Ohio and Florida and she currently owns and operates a successful private practice in Ellenton.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Jen has been an active member in the community, serving on several boards and working with many non-profit organizations for those less fortunate in the community. Her community work includes:

- President of the Parrish Civic Association for the past two years.

- Take Stock in Children board and serves as a mentor to one of the students in the

program.

- Regular donations, through time and money, to organization such as St. Jude,

Southeastern Guide Dogs, PACE for Girls, Take Stock in Children, Special

Olympics, Wounded Warriors, Florida Sheriff’s Department and Turning Points.

- Longstanding and continued yearly supporter of local organizations

such as Parrish High School Athletic Boosters, Parrish High School Marching

Band, Parrish Arts Department, Palmetto Athletics and the Parrish Civic Association.

Being an officer with the Parrish Civic Association Board of Directors for the last few years, first as Treasurer and then most recently as President, has afforded Jen the ability to be a leader in the community through event planning, dealings with county issues and outreach with residents and businesses to problem solve and devise resolutions to community issues.
