Candidate: Sheritta Johnson

Sheritta Johnson is a leader determined to influence progress through accountability, empowerment, ethics, knowledge, respect, sincerity, and trust. A native of Fort Pierce, Florida she graduated with the class of 1987, from Fort Pierce Westwood High School and went on to obtain an Associate of Arts Degree from Indian River State College, formerly Indian River Community College. Mrs. Johnson later attended Palm Beach Atlantic University, where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Prior to returning to St. Lucie County, Sheritta held the position of an Underwriter for Florida League of Cities, Inc., managing a book of business in excess of $27,000,000, for 139 cities and special districts throughout Central and Eastern Florida. Such cities and special districts include but are not limited to to: the City of Fort Pierce, the City of Vero Beach, the City of Melbourne, the City of Altamonte Springs, and Tradition Community Development District. As the current Risk Manager for the City of Fort Pierce, Mrs. Johnson lends over 17 years of experience evaluating and assessing risk to this position. In addition to her role as the City’s Risk Manager, she teaches as an Adjunct Professor at Indian River State College. Charged to serve the community, Sheritta is an active member of the Board of Directors for United Against Poverty, formerly Harvest Food & Outreach Center, an organization providing a hand up for those in need, helping them to break free from poverty by offering hunger relief, crisis care, transformative education, and employment training opportunities. Sheritta is a published author of Back to the Basics, Foundation for Living a Kingdom Life and the Founder of “It’s All About You!, an organization dedicated to supporting and fortifying the notion that every female can embody positive self-image and high esteem, growing from tot-to-teen to woman, through personal mentorship, seminars, and workshops. Sheritta is married to motivational speaker, author, and County Commissioner, Kim Johnson (District 5). Together they have three children and four grandchildren.
