Candidate: Ed Alonzo

Ed Alonzo was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but received a scholarship in 1989 to attend The Florida State University. He graduated three years later with a bachelor’s degree in accounting cum laude, and met his wife, Katie. In 1995, he graduated from the University of Florida law school and was admitted to the Florida Bar. In 1997, Ed Alonzo also became a Florida Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Ed Alonzo has been in private practice for twenty years, and has lived and worked in St Lucie County for fifteen years. As a longtime resident of St. Lucie County, Ed Alonzo brings over a decade of local experience to the bench that someone new to our area simply does not have. As a civil and criminal lawyer, and a former traffic hearing officer, Ed has the training and temperament needed to insure a fair and efficient courtroom. Ed Alonzo also has a long list of civic and professional organizations to his credit. In addition to his membership in the St. Lucie, Martin and Port St. Lucie Bar Associations, and the St Lucie Hundred Club, Inc., Ed Alonzo is active in the Knights of Columbus and serves on the board of directors for Lifebuilders of the Treasure Coast, Inc. Ed Alonzo is married and lives in Port St. Lucie with his wife and two children. They enjoy boating on the St Lucie River and the Indian River Lagoon, and going to soccer and basketball games.
