Candidate: Lex Sanders

Hello District 5,

I am Lex Sanders, Esq. and I am your candidate for the next City of Starke Commissioner for Distict 5. I am one of you. I am a lifelong resident of City of Starke (except for time away for Educational purposes) so I know what you want and deserve in a City Commissioner. You want someone who is looking out for what is best for our local community and it's future. That is what I'd strive daily to do!

As you probably are, I am a fighting tornado, a graduate of Bradford County High School, and of Santa Fe Community College where I received my Associate of Arts degree. I was one of the first students when SFCC moved into the satellite campus in the Old Courthouse in downtown Starke. Later, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Florida, and a Juris Doctorate degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville. Since obtaining my Juris Doctorate I have run a successful small town lawfirm within the City of Starke. My experiences have been in a vast variety of civil, municipal and criminal cases. I have practiced law before the County Court and the Circuit Court, but not only with cases at the local and state level, but Federally before the Middle District Federal Court, the Middle District of the United States Bankruptcy Court, and before the United States Tax Court. The City of Starke has given me the opportunity to practice with such diversity and I am now able to give back to you the wide range of knowledge  and experience that I have been fortunate enough to have.  As is true of many of you, I am not a newcomer to Starke. My roots run deep into the history of our City with 4 generations of my family having lived in our City. As such I have an in depth understanding of the great things,as well as the challenges, our City has faced over my lifetime. Being a resident and a small business owner, I feel I can represent the District with a focus on the future. I have been a member of the First Baptist Church for over 40 years, and I enjoy attending both it and Madison Street Baptist Church. You can depend on me to have integrity, honesty and to uphold what is best for my constituents in an fair and equitable manner. I want to be a Commissioner who is of the people and represents each and everyone of you to the best of my abilities. Because what effects you also effects me as a City resident. I will always have an open ear for any suggestions for improvements which we can strive to make in our community.
