Candidate: Michael Heeder

Hello and thanks for stopping by... I am excited to be running to be your City Commissioner. First, I would like to say thank you to all the citizens and businesses that have already reached out to express their support. It is deeply appreciated.

I grew up in Melrose and have spent the better part of 30 years in Bradford County. I spent over 38 years as both a paid and volunteer firefighter, retiring from Gainesville Fire Rescue as a Fire Captain & Paramedic in 2011. I now continue my public service as your 911 Coordinator in the Emergency Management Division of the Sheriff's Office. I'm married and have three amazing children and two grandchildren.

I love working in the community and making positive strides for our youth. As a small business owner in Starke, I am always working to create programs and events that help our city and everyone who lives and works here. 

In my time, I have learned firsthand that we are not defined by the issues we face, bur rather how we work together to solve problems. People who run for office and truly care about their community do not serve to make a paycheck... they serve to make a difference.
