Candidate's Statement

Hi, I am Danny Riddick, current Bradford County Commissioner District 4.  It has been an honor and privilege to serve as your commissioner for the past 11 ½ years.  There have been a lot of changes in the past 11 ½ years.  My son, Clayton married to Kirstin. They have four children.  My daughter, Kelly married to John.  They have 4 children. God started putting all this together 43 years ago when I met my wife of 39 years Sheryl Thompson at the Hampton Lake boat ramp.  We have been living on Hampton Lake for the past 39 years. God has truly blessed my family.

I hope as you drive around Bradford County you can see some of the improvements made over the years.  From the Ten Commandments Monument at the courthouse, boat ramps improved, sidewalks installed on CR18, 21 and 21B, repaved SE CR 221, fixed drainage problem in front of Hampton City Hall, repaired railroad crossings on CR18 and CR221 in Hampton, repaved CR325, roads milled, three small roads chip sealed, completed Rails to Trails from SR100 around landfill to Immokalee Road.

More recently, we just finished paving SE 49th and we are working on paving the south side of SE 49th to straighten out U curve and working on Rails toTrails from SR100 to Hampton. Repaving SW CR227 from HWY301 to CR18.  Working on getting Speedville Fire Station up and running full time.  We have started running calls during the day.  We just need living quarters in order to have the station staffed 24/7.  We are working on trying to find a new location to move the garbage facility from SR100 and CR21B for safety reasons.  I am still fighting hard with help for a red light at CR21B and SR100.  Starting soon the county will be paving roads with our new paving machine using gas tax money.  This will be a big improvement on problem roads that milling and fog seal are not holding up on.  We are working on infrastructure to bring in smart growth like the beautiful RV Park that has helped many businesses in Bradford County, Keystone Heights and our tax base.  These are just a few of the projects completed or currently being done.

If re-elected, my promise to you is to always pray about every decision and put God first.  My strength still comes from Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.  There is a lot more work to be done.  I am willing and ready to continue to work hard for you if re-elected.  I cannot fix every problem, but if you call me I will always call you back and try my best to help.

Thank you for the opportunity to run for re-election for County Commissioner District 4.  Your support and prayers are appreciated.  If you would like a yard sign or have questions, I can be reached at 352-318-4950.

Thank You and May God Bless
