Candidate: Michael Monaghan

My name is Michael Monaghan, and it would be an honor to be considered as a candidate for the office of Bradford County Commissioner, district 4. My wife, Sabra Dennis Monaghan and I have three sons and ten grandchildren. We have built our businesses and enjoyed many years with our growing family in Bradford County. It would be my privilege to serve our county and, I will ensure that your voice will be heard.

I was born and raised in Maryland and started working in my family’s business at the age of thirteen. I worked hard to learn all aspects of the business, and I worked my way from stock boy to manager. I learned about the importance of family values, a strong work ethic, and I was always committed to the job or task at hand. Soon after, I joined the Army to serve as Military Police from 1982-1984 with honorable discharge. I then worked for Baltimore County Fire Maintenance division for four years. Duties included repairs & maintenance on all types of fire equipment, parts inventory and maintaining stock levels for parts. I worked for a large tire retailer after that. I started as service manager and worked my way up to district manager. I was responsible for store budgets, projections, stock levels, employees, and I was put in charge of planning activities to generate more business (car shows, sidewalk sales, and sale promotions). I moved to Florida in the late 90’s to be with my family. In 2005, I started a business in Bradford County which grew into three locations, two in Bradford County and one in Union County. I negotiated contracts, lease agreements, purchases, and the sale of multiple businesses.

Selling those businesses, gives me the ability to devote my time and attention to being your full time County Commissioner. I have worked in a lot of different fields, and I have been fortunate to gain the knowledge, experience, and values needed to be a hard-working representative for my community. As your County Commissioner, I will be committed to making our community a place people want to live and grow, I will employ my experience in business, and I will honestly address the greatest needs of our county. My door will always be open, and I want your voice to be heard.
