Candidate: John DiMola

I am a political newcomer running for Port St. Lucie City Council District 1 seat, and have a passion for the city which I have called home for 24 years. My wife and I moved from Long Island to Port St. Lucie in 1990. We have 1 daughter and 4 grandchildren. I continued my career in the automotive field, advancing to management while studying Business Management at IRSC. For the last 9 1/2 years, I have worked at the Wal-Mart distribution center in Ft. Pierce, the last 6 as a Loss Prevention Associate. In addition to studying business management, I am also a State of Florida licensed Security Officer, Red Cross certified in AED/CPR/First Aid, and have attended (And graduated) both the St. Lucie County Fire District and St. Lucie County Sheriff\'s Office Citizen\'s Academy. I believe in giving back to the community as much as I can, and I am a proud volunteer with the St. Lucie County Sheriff\'s Office (Crime Prevention Unit), volunteer on the Culture Committee at work, and until recently a Port St. Lucie PD volunteer. Staying engaged makes a difference and makes Port St. Lucie a better place to live. I have also served from 2002-06 as President of the Stuart Sons of Italy, from 2009-11 as President of the Palm City Sons of Italy. In the security field integrity, character, judgment, and trust are the highest standards I adhere to, and if elected will work on sustaining these standards the citizens expect in their elected representatives.
