Candidate: Jeremy Theisen

I was born in Harford, CT and my family moved to south Florida when he was very young. I attended Broward Community College where I received an AS degree, then University of Florida for a BS in Business Administration and then Nova Southeastern University where I received an MBA with a concentration in Finance. While working my way through school, I learned all about dedication, time management, and the importance of setting goals and having a plan. I also learned to appreciate when goals are met as well as the need to continually re-evaluate your plan and modify it as necessary. My wife, Justine, and I live in Fort Pierce, where for the past eight years I have worked for a construction services company. Starting as a trainee, through hard work, I was promoted to regional manager within four years. Justine, a lifelong Ft. Pierce native, is a Speech Language Pathologist at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center. Quite simply, the reason I am running is because I care about the students in our community and feel that we can do better. The cornerstone to my plan empowers principals and teachers, those closest to the students, to make decisions at the school level. This would give them the ability to allocate the resources to best educate and inspire our students. All students learn differently, and the teachers understand this best. We also need to address transportation, as well as our zone system. By reducing transportation costs, we can drive those dollars back into the classroom.
